01-Nov-2013:  Z1.71 arrives at the Domain Interchange.  Z1s are an endangered species as it appears the forthcoming E classes will be used to retire older trams such as the Z1s and Z2s, rather than add capacity to the already overburdened tram network.  The current state government is much more interested in big, expensive road projects ($8 billion) than in any significant improvement to public transport.  My prediction: they will be punished by the electorate at the next election.
