26-Jul-2013: At about 5.30pm, a utility heading east on Bridge Street Port Melbourne crossed to the wrong side of the road overtaking a car standing at the lowered booms. The vehicle collided with out-bound route 109 tram C1.3011, hitting the tram at about the leading bogie. The car was spun around, hitting the second set of doors of the tram.
The leading wheels of the leading bogie of the tram derailed on impact and the tram came to a halt approximately 100m south of the level crossing. Fortunately, no-one on board was seriously injured, a heavily pregnant woman was taken to hospital for observation.
