08-Mar-2022: The clouds looked as if they had settled in for the day. The Tait set headed off to the east to Belgrave where it ran a shuttle trip between Belgrave and Upper Ferntree Gully. Returning to the City it ran a final trip out to Essendon, then back to Flinders Street before heading home empty cars to Newport Shops.
I captured the set (317M-230D-208T-381M) as it crossed Hudson Road at Spotswood station - a boarded up signal box, rusted signal masts, elegant overhead lattice masts and of course the Spottiswoode Hotel (b. 1888) all part of the scene.
